If you’re looking for a OnePlus Watch 4, this leak says you’ve just crossed an important hurdle

What you need to know
- Rumor has it that the OnePlus Watch 4 has just gone through EMVCo to get its certification before launch.
- The watch is rumored to sport a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 646mAh battery, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 SoC.
- OnePlus teased that it had a new watch on the way last year on its website; although the image was small, it gave the impression that the OPPO Watch S could be used as its base.
It’s been a few months since rumors about the OnePlus Watch 4 caught our eye, but this one suggests that the development has pushed it through a significant hoop.
On X, tipster Sudhanshu suggests that the Chinese OEM’s next wearable has been spotted getting its EMVCo certification (via Android Police). This tipster claims that the OnePlus Watch 4 could have a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466. The device may be offered in a 47mm size variant, alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC powering its operations.

The Watch 3 already has excellent battery life. It can work for four to six days on a single full charge. Granted, that had its own 631mAh battery. These rumors say that he can jump a little. I’m not sure that will provide any meaningful improvements in longevity. Visually, it’s good to see a bigger battery because that, in theory, means you can go further and do more.
Software-wise, Google’s Wear OS 5 is alleged to be powering the Watch 4. If true, it would be quite a disappointment, considering the Watch 3 still has OS 5, with OS 6 expected to arrive in 2026. Inside, a 646mAh battery is rumored to keep the device going all day, with close to an IP69 water and dust resistance rating.

The physical date of the OnePlus Watch 4 was not mentioned; However, the tipster thinks it could happen “soon,” as EMVCo certification has emerged.
Slow OS updates, but what about the watch itself?
Rumor has it that the OnePlus Watch 4 may feature a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC. It is very likely that OnePlus is looking at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 series in general, since the W5 Gen 1 will be launched in 2022. It would be very strange if the company chose a four-year-old chip. Either way, we started thinking about the Watch 4 back in November when OnePlus teased the new watch on its website.
Android Central Take
There was little similarity between the alleged OnePlus Watch 4 in the image of the site and OPPO’s Watch S. The crowns looked similar between the two models, which makes me feel that those old rumors are on the right track. Still, I think OnePlus makes decent watches. My only problem, similar to my previous colleague, is the company’s OS cadence. It’s not fast enough, and there are often delays that spoil the whole momentum. If that is fixed, maybe we are cooking.
There was very little about the device we could log in to, as we only had an image of the website. However, there was speculation that OnePlus could use OPPO’s Watch S as the basis for its next model. At the time—and in line with that speculation—it was speculated that the Watch 4 might have a 1.46-inch, 3,000-nit AMOLED display. We’re seeing a slightly higher rumored display size today, but things are still in the same ballpark.
The OS of this device was also a talking point last year, as OnePlus was slow in releasing Wear OS 5 on the Watch 2. When it finally did (in January 2026, mind you), it caused nothing but problems for users. The OnePlus Watch 3 hasn’t received Wear OS 6 yet, so if the Watch 4 comes with OS 5, users may be in trouble again.
