However, it seems that the fans of the brand are not getting what the Chinese fans are getting, and the disappointment is not only related to the price but also to an important aspect of the phone experience: its battery.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra European variant battery and price leak

Tipster @MysteryLupin has published on X what the price of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could be in Europe, as well as the battery size and colors that the phone will reportedly be available in. According to the leak, European buyers will have to pay €1,499 for the version with 512 GB and 16 GB of RAM. And yes, this is the starting price.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra will cost €1499 for 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. But it’s not surprising.

            <picture style="padding-top: 56.25%"></picture>

Photo Credit – Xiaomi

Then, we have the battery size. European buyers interested in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra are reportedly getting a 6,000 mAh battery, while Chinese buyers are getting a 6,800mAh battery. 6,000 mAh is still more than what other competitors (including the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to the leak), but still, it makes you wish you were in China for a bigger battery option.

In terms of colors, the phone will reportedly be sold in green, white, and black, with the purple variant remaining exclusive to the Chinese crowd.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a serious contender for the throne

Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a big flagship with its 6.9-inch AMOLED screen, a very bright panel, and the latest high-speed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. It packs a triple rear camera setup with a main 50 MP, 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP selfie camera.

A 6,000mAh battery would still be considered generous by high standards. Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs HyperOS on Android. Storage goes up to 1 TB with up to 16 GB of RAM.

The main competitors of the best flagship phone of 2026 are also not to be underestimated. I The iPhone 17 Pro Max also has a 6.9-inch screen and the strong performance of the Apple A19 Pro, but its battery (about 5,000 mAh) is smaller, and the camera setup is a triple unit with a 48 MP sensor instead of the high telephoto of Xiaomi. I The Galaxy The S26 Ultrawhich is not yet official, it is rumored to sport a 6.9-inch QHD+ display, the Galaxy’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a quad camera. However, the phone is said to retain the 5,000 mAh battery from previous generations.

Overall, Xiaomi’s biggest strengths seem to be the battery (especially in China), a very capable camera system, and raw specs.

Why I had the battery run down – and why it still bothers me

Honestly, I like big batteries. More mAh usually means more hours of screen time and less worry about charging. Seeing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to ship with a 6,000 mAh battery instead of the 6,800 mAh one that China gets feels low, even if 6,000 mAh is still a lot by flagship standards.

It’s more of a goal than a number – you want the best version, not the cutest version.

Part of the reason phones sometimes get smaller batteries in Europe isn’t just Xiaomi being stingy, though. Regulations on battery transport in the EU can make large single-cell batteries more difficult and expensive to ship unless manufacturers break them down into smaller units or rearrange them for compatibility. Therefore, companies tend to err on the side of caution.

Still, it’s hard not to be a little jealous of the Chinese version. But, oh, it is.

<picture class="offer-image">

</picture>

Try Noble Mobile for only $10

Get unlimited talk, text, and data on the T-Mobile 5G Network and earn cash for data you don’t use.

                        Shop at Noble Moblie

View Full Bio

                    Izzy, a tech enthusiast and an integral part of the PhoneArena team, specializes in bringing you the latest mobile technology news and finding the best tech deals.
